I saw this article in hogan Stand:

Robert Emmets shock Antrim champions
Monday, November 29, 2004

London senior hurling champions Robert Emmets qualified for the All-Ireland intermediate hurling championship semi-final following a surprise 0-8 to 1-3 victory over Karey Faughs of Antirm at Ruislip over the weekend.

The visitors had full forward Paudie McShane sent off after eight minutes, but they still led by 1-2 to 0-3 at half-time thanks to a Martin McAuley goal from a free.

However, they only managed one point in the second half as Emmets battled back to qualify for the semi-final for the first time.

Long time no hear Mick Sheahan

Message Posted By: Boots Freeman

Lovely hour spent readin the history of the Emmetts. My stint in 91-95 seems like yesterday.Mick Sheahan, if you read this, fair play to ya,its great to see you still involved.I still remember Der Cronins eyes rolling in his head when you gave him the good dash of Paddys from the brown paper bag before the Championship Final in 93.Willie Fox broke 14 red lights that day.Myself and Sharon still hold you responsible for a lot of things. We ve a young fella now, Oisin is two and Colm, I ll send him up for training in a year or two. We ve been in Bangladesh now for 18 months and have 2 more years before I finally get the Croydon girl back to Mayo.Thats the deal. Its a long way from Gaelic here.Sitting here waiting for the All Ireland with MayovKerry we ve bought through Setanta on the web and we re 5 hours ahead so if Mayo win I ll ride a rickshaw naked through Dhaka.
PS : Was with Mahon two weeks ago at Turlochs wedding in cavan. He has nt changed and apparently can still kick a point lying down.

Bucks has no choice in letting people outscore him. He is now wearing the goalies jersey. Even you would be able to get more points than him now.

Just to remind all the Emmett s players of the quote in the match day programme of last year s Hurling Co Final from the Chairman of the Treacy s - " we will face the camera with helmets off for all to see " (i.e. no Flyers to hide ) I wonder if they would do it now ? ! Keep the Emmett s flag flying.

Following Football Training last night Donal Lyons has asked us to point out that he has been cleared of any charges of "having pulled a monster ! " in The Swan, Stockwell recently.

Though no-one actually accused Donal of this crime he nevertheless has felt the need to publicly clear his name - shades of Charlie Windsor and the servant-that-wasn t-in-the-bed methinks !!!!

Former All-Ireland winning captain Anthony Daly has been ratified as the new Clare senior hurling manager. Daly assumes the role vacated by Cyril Lyons, who had been in charge for three years.

Daly, who famously led the Banner County to All-Ireland successes in 1995 and ‘97, will be aided by selectors Fr Harry Bohan and Alan Cunningham.

Hard luck to robert emmett s on losing the championship semi-final. although they didn t really play well on the day a lot of hard work went in throughout the season. don t forget how you feel now boys and let that spur you on for next year!

Message Posted By: Deep Throat

Rumour has it that Barry Quinn will be making a return to feild of play this Sunday. It has been discovered that the Emmetts have purchased a radio control wheelchair and a pair of joke arms! Surely this can t be true!

Message Posted By: Jason O Connor

Best of Luck on Sunday, keep up the good work Mick Sheehan, make sure Pat O Keeffe stay s in Saturday night.

Robert Emmet's??

Message Posted By: Dynesy

It was nice to see that the Robert Emmett s (or should that be Emmet s, the true spelling of our heroes name? his father dropped one of the T’s) got a mention in the All Ireland official match day programme. For those of you who haven’t seen it, there is a quote from the club on a full page Gaelsport advert. This is great PR for the club and will hopefully generate more interest!
